Named after the agile and efficient wasp, Vespid embodies precision and speed. Vespid 2 builds on this compact, high-performance spirit with full optical and handling upgrades. It empowers filmmakers to achieve faster, more accurate, and more expressive workflows.
Vespid 2 features a fully upgraded optical design with a constant T1.9 aperture across the series. Each lens incorporates new-generation self-developed aspherical elements, precision-polished to the highest standards, paired with multi-layer nano coatings and special calibrated coating formulas to minimize reflections and suppress stray light.
The result is outstanding resolution with clean, pure imagery, rich details and textures, delivering pristine imagery with controlled contrast to accommodate diverse creative requirements from commercial to artistic applications. Optimized structure and precision coatings ensure consistent color performance across all focal lengths, enabling seamless integration with all production and post-production workflows for projects ranging from advertising, film, and television productions to individual creative endeavors.

The new Vespid 2 elevates resolution to meet the most exacting demands of in- and out-of-focus rendering. Its redesigned optics suppress chromatic aberration, delivering pure and natural skin tones, while a ten-blade iris with a linear aperture scale produces refined, expressive bokeh for every frame. Enhanced distortion control across the full range—from 18mm ultra-wide to 105mm telephoto—ensures stable, consistent imagery in multi-camera setups or complex shooting environments, minimizing post correction and delivering cohesive precision.
Vespid 2 is the most compact T1.9 Vista Vision prime set on the market, initially available in 18mm, 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 105mm.
Covering the full spectrum from wide to medium telephoto, it supports sensors up to 46.5mm, including RED V-Raptor VV, ARRI Alexa LF, Sony Venice, and other large-format systems. In many scenarios, it also extends coverage to medium-format systems like the Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65 and Fujifilm GFX Eterna, delivering high-resolution performance for full-frame cinema while accommodating select medium-format workflows.
Building on the compact optical design of Vespids, the Vespid 2 lineup integrates floating elements to precisely correct aberration from infinity to minimum focus, ensuring exceptional close-focus performance. With a maximum magnification of 1:5.5–1:8, close-up performance is significantly enhanced, meeting the growing demands of commercials, narrative films, and documentaries.
Minimal lens breathing ensures smooth transition and stable framing that needs no systemic correction, delivering an immersive cinematic experience whether shooting handheld, monitoring on set, previewing in post, or working in virtual production.
Vespid 2 integrates the Cooke /i protocol within its compact housing and is fully compatible with ARRI, RED, Blackmagic, Sony, and Canon cinema cameras. Lens data such as focal length, T-stop and focus distance is automatically recorded and displayed in real time, reducing manual input errors.
Equipped with a 5-pin Lemo interface, it will support wireless follow-focus systems and a wide range of professional cine accessories in the future, enabling rapid integration on films, TV dramas, commercials, and short-form productions. Streamlining both time and cost, Vespid 2 delivers a highly efficient, smooth collaborative workflow akin to a well-coordinated cinematic “hive.”
At only around 800g, each Vespid 2 lens pairs an 80mm front diameter with an 80mm barrel length, making it the most compact PL-mount Vista Vision high-speed prime.
Designed for compact setups, it works effortlessly with DJI Ronin 4D, gimbals, handheld rigs, sliders, and drones. Balanced for rapid platform swaps, it delivers both portability and precise handling, empowering filmmakers with fluid creative control.
